Nvidia Does It Again - Photorealistic Rendering

Remember when Nvidia last showed off their ultra realistic human head rendering in 2007?  Here.

This time Nvidia did it again. However, this time is with the new upcoming "Fermi" graphic chip. The "Fermi" is packed with more than 30 million transistors and up to 512 CUDA cores. This enables it to render every little detail and perform task like ray-tracing which require large amount of calculation. In the past, these tasks are only achievable with the help of a super computer.


The Fermi based cards, mainly Geforce, Testla and Quadro will be expected to be launched in Q1 of 2010.
