As anticipated by Microsoft Corp., Windows 7 has not only registered strong sales but also surpassed those of Vista within the first few days after its launch.
According to NPD Group, a market research company, Windows 7 sales have topped Vista by 234 percent for the initial days, thus generating 82 percent more revenue than its predecessor.
Though some users have encountered problems while installing Windows 7, the new operating system has proved to be better than Vista.
Further, its well received launch, relatively positive reviews, discounts, aggressive pricing and marketing, fresh signs of markets recovering etc. all have worked in favor of the software giant, Microsoft.
Within days after its much awaited debut on Oct. 22, Windows 7 was declared the best seller on Amazon, occupying the top three slots.
